International Stroke Awareness Day 2017

October 29, is known as International Stroke Awareness Day, in which many organisations around the world embark on an educational campaign to highlight the importance of recognising the symptoms of stroke, and how to avoid this from happening to you.

The foundation, in addition to raising awareness on International Stroke Awareness Day, is launching the “The Glove Initiative” (TGI) , which aims to educate and make the public aware of the effects of stroke. The initiative has been welcomed by many families of stroke survivors, educational institutes as well as corporates.

The participating school and clinic, will be advocating the initiative by donning a turquoise glove on one hand, and will attempt to perform every day activities with the ungloved hand. – This allows people to experience what stroke survivors have to deal with after surviving a stroke, and becoming disabled.
